EC Message for 1/7/10
Hello to all members, and Happy New year!
We begin this year at CCAR with quite a few new and exciting things.
First, I would like to introduce myself to those of you that do not know me, since I am now taking the helm as the EC.
My name is Jim Harris, and I have been a member of CCAR for over 8 years now. I am an Extra Class Ham, and been licensed since 1969....yes, I am that old.
I have been working with Lor and the staff to try and make the transition to EC smoothly, as well as planning an exciting new year for all. We have many new, as well as old, communications topics lined up for this year. Each Tech Rally has a great topic, and we'll give you some great insight into the year at the first Quarterly meeting, scheduled for Monday - January 25th. Stay tuned for further details.
The first Tech Rally of the year will be held this Saturday monring at 8:30am in Room 026 of the GSC. The topic for the rally is a recap of the Limerick Generating Station Exercise we just completed. Al - W3AHR - is primed and ready to deliver the details garnered from his attending the two County meetings that were held to assess the Exercise. I don't want to steal any of Al's message, but CCAR can be quite proud! Please try to attend this Saturday to hear all of the details.
That's all for now. Stay tuned, and please try to join us for the weekly nets, as well as the upcoming Tech Rally.
73,
Jim - WA3NOA
p.s. For those of you that are coming to this Saturday's Tech Rally...we plan to go to Graham's Kitchen after the short rally for a little fellowship and grub...Dutch Treat. This is a good chance to get to know me and bend my ear with your ideas and comments.
