CCAR To offer a one day Technician Class license course and test session
To all CCAR members.
I am pleased to announce that CCAR will be hosting a one day Technician License Course.
We have had several people in the local area inquire about a class, so we have decided to offer one.
The course will be held on Saturday - June 26th in the GSC, Room 171. The course will start at 0800 and will end at 1600, followed by a VE testing session. There will be no charge for the class itself, but those attendees wanting to take the Technician Class License Exam must pay a $15.00 fee to take the test. The County has graciously agreed to provide light breakfast, drinks, and a lunch for all attending.
We will be using the ARRL 'Ham Radio License Manual' as our textbook, and it is required that each attendee purchase one before coming to class. It is available, easily, at Amazon.com at the following URL:
http://www.amazon.com/ARRL-Ham-Radio-License-Manual/dp/0872599639/ref=sr...
I do realize that that day is Field Day, and in fact we planned the course specifically on that day so that the attendees can take a short tour of 026 and see a field day in action with CCAR.
Please talk to your friends, family, neighbors, etc. to encourage them to come and take the course. The only cost to them is a day of their time...$18 for the book, and of course, the $15 testing fee, if they feel comfortable to take the test after attending the course.
This is a great opportunity for us to involve more people in our community in Amateur Radio, and add to our ranks at CCAR. Make sure you try to provide that opportunity to others.
Please have anyone that is interested contact our very own John Abitablio - KB3MJD - at:
We need to have people register as soon as possible, so we make sure we have enough seats and materials available, so don't delay.
Thanks to all for your help.
73,
Jim - WA3NOA
